The hardest part for any horse breeder is to make the decision about when it is the right time to let his beloved horse go. It is our responsibility as their owners to let them leave us, in comfort and peace, when that time comes. However, it is never an easy thing to do.
Yesterday, we had to say Goodbye to our beloved Al Baraqai AA. Her "farm" name was Ali.
Al Baraqai was The Vision's oldest daughter, out of the elegant sire Baahir (Ibn El Mareekh x GF Nasra Bataa). She was born on the 24th of April 2000, just before dawn -- a beautiful refined bay filly with a beautiful, chiseled face and extremely long legs.
Ali was unique from day one and she grew up to be a kind and loving mare, but she didn't enjoy being a show horse. She was one of these who always preferred to be in the background. But she was one hell of a marvelous broodmare!
And she was the first horse to teach our son Daniel to walk side by side with a horse. She became a friend and part of the family!
I will not start to write about all of her progeny as she had many foals during her lifetime, but I do want to mention a few of her daughters by Laheeb, a cross which turned out to be her best cross; Bamsah AA (Laheeb) - a multi champion mare and dam of many wonderful horses. Baraaqa AA (Laheeb) - a multi champion mare and the dam of Baha AA (Al Ayad) and Badriyah AA (Nader Al Jamal), Bilqis AA - the dam of our beautiful young mare Bahiya AA (Kenz Al Baydaa).
So, now we have to say goodbye but also, we have to say THANK YOU! Thank you, Ali, for being part of our life and part of our family for so long...
