Today, the 17th of February 2014, the queen of our farm, *The Vision HG , is 20 years old! The Vision was bred by the US breeder Marilynn Geurin. We first met The Vision in the spring of 1995 during the Egyptian Event in Lexington, Kentucky, while she was under the wonderful care of Steve Dady, and we made the decision to buy her on the spot. It was love at first sight, and the rest is now history.... Shortly after her purchase, The Vision made her trans-atlantic trip to Israel in the companionship one of our other mares (Imperial Im Tiarah). It didn't seem to take very long before we recognized that VIsion had already made herself the heart and soul of our program. Over the years this magical black mare was shown many times and was named 1996 - Middle East Reserve Junior Champion Filly and Most Classic Head winner, 1996 Israeli National Champion Filly and Most Classic Head winner, 1998 Israeli National Champion Mare and 1999 Israeli National Champion Mare. In 2007 The Vision finished her show career by taking part in Israel's annual Egyptian Event where she won the title of Gold Champion Mare.
Over the years The Vision become not only our own most important broodmare but has also been recognized as one of the world’s best-producing mares. Today her descendants can be found in all parts of the world. Among her best progeny are the All Nations Cup Reserve Champion colt Al Maraam (by Imperial Imdal), All Nations Cup, European Champion, World Champion and Dubai Champion Al Lahab (by Laheeb), Israeli Egyptian Event Gold Champion Al Halah AA (by Laheeb), Israeli National Champion & Egyptian Event Champion Al Hadiyah AA (by Laheeb), US Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Al Raheb AA (by Laheeb) and Dubai Gold Champion & Egyptian Event Europe Gold Champion Al Ayal AA (by *Al Ayad). One more of The Vision’s jewels will soon be present to the world. We have named him Al Ghazali AA and he is sired by the World Champion stallion Gazal Al Shaqab.
On this memorable day we wish to thank all the people who have taken part and played a role in The Vision's life; including her breeder, her devoted veterinarians, her trainers and handlers, her many admirers, and most importantly the people on our farm staff who have taken daily care of her and loved her so very well over so many years. Our twenty years with The Vision have passed amazingly fast. We are so very grateful for having had the privilege of knowing and loving this once-in-a-lifetime mare. Our birthday wish for our regal black jewel is that we continue to celebrate many more such birthdays together, and that she and her progeny will continue to reign at Ariela.
