We are much saddened to share the information that yesterday we lost the 'Queen Mother' of our farm, our beloved Maar Bilahh (El Halimaar x Bint Nabilahh by Morafic), who was 25 years old. Maar Bilahh was one of those "once in a lifetime" mares -- she had it all, and was both a multi-champion show mare and a wonderful mother. Her most outstanding feature was her incredible loving personality, combined with the biggest, blackest, most liquid eyes that one can imagine; the kind of eyes that you can just look into forever. The loss of Maar Bilahh feels like the end of an era, but her star will keep shining and her legacy will carry on through her many descendants. Photo by Rick Van Lent.
